Jordan’s Minister of Investment Engages UK Business Leaders to Promote Investment Opportunities in the Kingdom

High-level discussions in London explore new opportunities for UK-Jordan economic and investment cooperation

London, United Kingdom – H.E. Dr. Tareq Abughazaleh, Jordan’s Minister of Investment, held a series of high-level meetings with British business leaders, economic institutions, and trade representatives in London as part of the Ministry’s efforts to promote investment opportunities in the Kingdom, strengthen economic partnerships, and attract high-quality investments.

As part of Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) activities, British Expertise International (BEI) and The D Group hosted Jordan’s Minister of Investment, H.E. Dr. Tareq Abughazaleh, in Westminster for a high-level discussion on opportunities to strengthen economic and commercial collaboration between Jordan and the United Kingdom. The meeting was attended by H.E. Manar Dabbas, Jordan’s Ambassador to the UK, and brought together leading British business representatives from the infrastructure, manufacturing, logistics, and energy sectors.

The discussions focused on opportunities to expand private-sector partnerships between the two countries, particularly in transport, water, and major development projects, while highlighting Jordan’s strategic location as a gateway to regional markets, including the Gulf, Iraq, and Syria.

H.E. Dr. Tareq Abughazaleh reaffirmed the strength of the longstanding strategic partnership between Jordan and the United Kingdom, highlighting the growing momentum in economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. He showcased Jordan’s investment opportunities across a range of high-potential sectors, emphasizing the Kingdom’s competitive business environment, ongoing economic reforms, and investor-friendly legislation. The Minister noted that such engagements provide a valuable platform for direct dialogue with business leaders, investors, and international economic institutions, helping to showcase Jordan’s competitive advantages and attract high-quality investments that contribute to economic growth and job creation.

For his part, H.E. Manar Dabbas, Jordan’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, emphasized the importance of building on the strong and enduring ties between Jordan and the UK to further expand economic and investment cooperation. He reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the British business community, promoting the Kingdom’s investment opportunities, and positioning Jordan as a competitive and attractive destination for international investment.

During the visit, Dr. Abughazaleh also met with Lord Ian McNicol, the UK Trade Envoy to Jordan, Kuwait and the Palestinian Territories, as well as senior representatives of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce. Discussions focused on strengthening economic and trade cooperation, promoting Jordan’s investment opportunities, and fostering new partnerships between the Jordanian and British business communities.

These meetings form part of the Ministry of Investment’s broader efforts to promote Jordan’s investment opportunities internationally, deepen engagement with leading economic institutions and business communities, and reinforce the Kingdom’s position as a preferred destination for high-value investments that support economic growth, sustainable development, and job creation.
