Brief Description:
Jaber Border Center is  the main border crossings connecting the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with the Syrian Arab Republic. It is located between the town of Jaber in Mafraq Governorate and the town of Nasib in Daraa Governorate.
This crossing is a vital hub for the movement of goods and passengers between the two countries.
The project involves comprehensive expansion and rehabilitation of the infrastructure and existing buildings, demolition of old and unused structures, development of cargo yards and facilities, installation of advanced electronic and security systems, and renovation of accommodation facilities for security personnel.
The goal is to enhance operational efficiency and improve the quality of services provided at the border.

Project Objectives:

Implementation Timeline:

  • Project tendering to begin in the end of Q4/2025.

Project Status:
The project has been registered as a PPP initiative in the National Registry of Infrastructure Projects. A supervisory committee has been formed at the Ministry of Investment to oversee implementation and manage the tendering process.

The project  is with an expected USD 135 million with A double-digit IRR.

A ~700 MW CCGT power plant using natural gas (with light distillate backup) connected to Jordan’s gas pipeline. Electricity will be evacuated via a 132/400 kV switchyard tied to NEPCO’s grid; the switchyard and transmission lines will be owned and operated by NEPCO.

The resort will include high-quality hotel facilities and advanced treatment centers offering mineral water therapies, health and fitness programs, and wellness spa (SPA) services. Surrounded by striking natural landscapes characterized by rocky valleys and flowing springs, the destination is particularly appealing to visitors seeking relaxation, luxury, and tranquility. Its strategic location within Tafilah Governorate, with convenient access via main roads, provides an ideal setting for the year-round operation of a sustainable therapeutic tourism project.

Establishing a sports city whose core will be the Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II International Stadium, with an area of 1,000 dunams and a capacity of 50,000 spectators, expected to be completed within four years. It will include commercial and service facilities, the use of advanced modern technologies and state-of-the-art broadcasting systems, and will ensure sustainability through self-generated energy, efficient water use, and effective space management.

Touristic Village Project – Shunah Al-Shamali Hot Springs Resort

Is located on a 40-dunum site in Wadi Al-Arab and features hot mineral springs These springs are used for various therapeutic purposes, including the treatment of joint and rheumatic diseases, improving blood circulation, respiratory ailments, and skin conditions, making it a comprehensive tourist and therapeutic destination. The resort was developed in stages, including the construction of indoor and outdoor pools, a cooling pool, gardens, walkways, family and single chalets, restaurants, a commercial market, and water play areas, with a total cost of USD1.3 million, funded by several organizations. The municipality plans to expand the resort by adding a children’s amusement park and 18 new chalets, while continuing to involve local investors to ensure sustainable management and high economic feasibility. The project provides 25 direct jobs and stimulates commercial activity in the city.

The largest national urban development and investment project, established on the basis of clear and long-term future planning and organization. It spans approximately half a million dunams. Amra City is distinguished by its strategic location along international routes connecting Jordan with Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Iraq, and is situated 40 km from downtown Amman and 35 km from both Zarqa City and Queen Alia International Airport. A green city featuring the latest clean energy technologies and sustainability solutions, which includes development of several investment projects within the Amra City: the Sports City, the International Exhibitions and Conferences Center, and the Entertainment City.
